WRITING (PROJECTED) ON THE WALL
I went to a different parish for Mass this morning. They have a slide projector running continuously, displaying announcements and miscellany. The man next to me told me it more or less takes the place of a bulletin, but later I heard a mention of a parish bulletin, so they actually have parallel systems. In my parish I hear a constant refrain about people not reading the bulletin, so maybe the writing on the wall reaches some of that unreachable crowd.
During Mass they used the system to display the words of the hymns, most of which were unfamiliar to me, The singing of each stanza would start a split second before the words appeared, so I was feeling frustrated by not being able to come in on time. But I’m a note-holder, so what I missed on top I made up by holding the final notes a bit long
After Mass they offered a healing ministry over beneath the giant crucifix, so I limped over there with my cane and stress fractured foot and got lots of praying and hands laid on by several lay people. I needed that!
