I  happened to hear an interview on the radio of an author who wrote a book about connections between John Wyclif and James Madison, during which England’s ‘Bloody Mary’ was mentioned repeatedly. But the ‘bloody’ handle wasn’t hung on the other murderous royals and rulers- Bloody Henry, Bloody Edward, Bloody Elizabeth, Bloody James, Bloody Oliver, and the rest of the lot.
