FAMILY VISION
A relative has set up a nifty online family tree website and we all are putting in our facts, figures and photos. We are a scattered tribe, so it is salutary to see how such a project pulls us together and gets us to thinking as members a symphony rather than as isolated instrumentalists tootling away in isolation.
Out of sight, out of mind: we tend to let a mishmash of nearby stuff so fill up our minds that there is little or no room left in our thoughts for those we love and who mean the most to us. Just so, we also can let all the day-by-day trivia clutter up the mental space that we should rather give over to God, until we are brought up short by Sunday Mass rolling around, or something about the Church getting into the news report, or some unexpected turn in our conversations leading us back to where we should have been all along, conscious of His Providence and our creatureliness.
