PAINLESS PURGATORY?

I;

I’m pretty well resigned to the version of Purgatory that involves burning and suffering , because tha’ts the way I learned it. But squirming around mentally looking for another way of thinking about it I come up with a way God has of ‘finishing” us. We all have things we didn’t do, and a history of bad things we did do: ok, SINS. There’s one definition of sin I  remember which has it as “missing the mark.” So couldn’t Purgatory of it’s equivalent be the state where we are brought around, maybe without pain as such,  to what we coulda, shoulda, woulda been, if we weren’t such selfish, dense doofuses, where we would be  finished, completed, cleansed, refined, cultivated,  all right, purged. Hey, that could hurt!
