This is Handel’s “Messiah,” only not exactly as you may remember it. The 150 voices of the Too Hot Choir and a 45-piece orchestra fill the hall of the Auditorium Theatre with a soulful gospel and R&B version that is sure to get the audience moving. Depending on the performance, tenors Rodrick Dixon, Thomas Young or Victor Trent Cook may lead the choir in this after-Christmas show in honor of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday.
How the mind delights in imagining how Handel would receive it!
